The River Theater will host an improvisational theater competition between Astoria High School and Seaside High School at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Two teams of five will play a variety of impromptu theater games. With suggestions from the audience, the students will perform everything from dying in a minute to selling a fake product to making up a language. All these people need is you and your imagination, be it mundane or bizarre.

The performance is the culminating event of Elijah Knight’s senior project. Knight has been acting in River Theater productions from about the age of 10, including the role of Feste, the Fool in the 2007 production of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.”
There will be a question and answer session after the performance. There is no formal charge for admission, but a suggested donation of $5 will go to benefit the theater.
The River Theater is located at 230 W. Marine Drive. For more information, call (503) 325-7487.
