Event organizers stated, “In a time of crisis and fear when many are polarized and feeling isolated, we take this opportunity to focus on our similarities, so this year’s question is ‘How do we honor unity in diversity?’ When we study the holy scriptures, we find the same universal message, stated in language appropriate for the time and place in which it is revealed. As mankind has matured, educated and raised himself up, a messenger of God has brought more knowledge and revealed a slightly higher standard with each new prophet. It is no longer acceptable just to tolerate; we must love all of humankind.”
The program format will be five to 10 minutes to speak to the focus question and the same amount of time for chanting, prayer, dance or singing to help experience each presenter’s spiritual practice. The first part of the program features the Hindu, Jewish and Buddhist faiths, followed by an intermission. The second part features the Christian, Muslim and Baha’i faiths.
The Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center is located at 588 16th St.
