ROSBURG, Wash. – The theme for the Grays River Friendship Circle’s fourth annual Spring Tea, “Tea In Glenrose’s Attic” just about says it all. Trunkloads of interesting antiques will be on display from several homes in the area Saturday, May 21. “It’s not just a ladies’ tea this year, for sure,” noted organizer Cheryl Dutcher, “as there are many items that men will find interesting.” The afternoon will be a trip back to an earlier time, when life in Grays River Valley was much different.

The menu consists of fresh vegetables, fruit, savories, sandwiches, mini vegetable quiches, sausage puff pastries, brownie trifles, white chocolate raspberry tarts, citrus sugar cookies, shortbread almond cookies, punch and, of course, tea. The festivities start at 11:30 a.m. at the Rosburg Community Hall in Rosburg, Wash. Guests will have time to view the antiquities and the selection of raffle prizes before the luncheon begins at 12:30 p.m., with a program of music and poetry following. Raffle tickets are $1 each, and winners select their own prizes from those on display. Raffle winners need not be present to win, but door prizes go to those at the event. Admission is by suggested donation $5.

Feel free to dress up in your finest party clothes, or your craziest hat, or just come as you wish, Dutcher said. Everyone is welcome.
